About Us

As a couple we decided to take the jump and turn our family home into a place we could receive guests.

We ran the house previously as “self-catering” but after a large refurbishment we are now offering it as a B&B with breakfast included, and possible arrangements of providing extra meals, packed lunches, and the occasional evening meal at request.

We enjoy meeting different people and travelling ourselves. Both of us speak English and Spanish. We have tried our utmost to make sure the house has the things that we would expect when we travel.

We feel it’s important for our guests to have their own space while also being there on hand if needed.

During your stay, we are always close by or on hand should you need anything, and are committed to providing a great stay for guests.

With the Falklands being a beautiful place to come and visit, be it for the wildlife, or just to come and chill out and relax.

We also offer guided tours to explore the local wildlife and landscapes. Just let us know when booking and we can advise on prices and availability.

Tu Guesthouse – Our Commitment to a Greener Stay

Caring for the Falkland Islands’ unspoiled landscapes is a big part of who we are. At Tu Guesthouse, we want every guest to feel at home and feel confident that their stay supports the islands’ environment in a positive way.

How We Keep Things Sustainable

Using energy wisely

We run the guesthouse with low-energy LED lighting, efficient appliances, and thermostat-controlled heating. The idea is simple: stay warm and comfortable without wasting power.

Saving water where we can

Water is precious here. We offer a towel-reuse option to help cut down on unnecessary washing.

Cutting down on waste

Recycling plays a big role in our day-to-day routine — glass, cans, and plastics all go into the island’s recycling system. Compostable food waste is put to good use, and we’ve moved away from single-use plastics in favour of sustainable alternatives.

Keeping it local

We source our eggs from local Falklands producers, supporting the community and keeping food miles to a minimum.

Protecting wildlife and nature

We love sharing the islands’ wildlife with guests, but we do it responsibly. You’ll find tips on safe, respectful viewing of penguins, seals, and birds, plus reminders to stick to paths in sensitive areas.

Working with eco-minded partners

Our recommended tour operators follow strong environmental practices and contribute to the wider conservation efforts across the islands.

Why It Matters

Every eco-friendly choice — big or small — helps protect the Falklands’ raw beauty. When you stay at Tu Guesthouse, you’re not just booking a room; you’re supporting a more sustainable future for one of the world’s most remarkable island landscapes.

We're so happy to have welcomed our first guest since refurbishment - Richard Sheldrake stayed with us early October. Thank you again Richard, and we hope you enjoyed your stay!
